Monday was the Stress Buster's event based on the summer solstice. This is one of the pictures I used which shows Finland on the first day of summer when the sun never quite sets. Isn't this a beautiful picture? It does set here, but Monday was the longest day of the year. It's so nice to get home, work out in the yard and actually see the sun go down instead of getting off late like I used to do.
I think our event went quite well with pictures, information on the summer solstice and cookies.
On Saturday my girlfriend and I are going up to Estes Park for the Scandinavian Festival up there. It has been several years since I have been to it. I'm excited. Both girls are busy this weekend - Heather is working and Heidi has a radio campout and a pig roast. Heidi is busy all the time with her fiancee, kids, classes and work. She, Bob and the kids did come over to swim last weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. I love summer. I wish it didn't have to end.
The summer solstice event was nice and I'm glad we planned it. It was really simple. Definitely we could do 6 similar events a year!
